Jon and I shot Kristen and Bob’s engagement shoot in the fall in Newport Beach, at their FUN engagement party. It was such a blast to photograph them both…they were so relaxed and fun-loving….its easy to see why they love each other so much. Their wedding will be in May in Coto de Caza and it is bound to be just as fun, passionate and classy as the engagement party. Actually, that pretty much sums Kristen up too….fun, passionate and classy.
Oh, and did I mention beautiful?
Bob…not looking too shabby yourself. Quite a gorgeous couple!
They couldn’t keep their hands off each other…we barely needed to pose them!
So not only do we get to photograph this beautiful couple….check out their family!!!
It doesn’t get much better than this….stunning couple, sweet family and a amazing location. We can’t wait until May.

Ava was born in September of 2011, a little Italian beauty with dark eyes and pouty lips. Her mother and father are high school friends of mine, and it gives me so much happiness to continue to shoot their family as they grow. Jake is such a gentle and sweet big brother, I love watching his interactions with her.

Our newest addition, Jack Peyton, arrived on November 22, 2011. We are loving being new parents to this little guy. Even at 4 o’clock in the morning.
More on that later. But the big news for Emily Ann Photography is that I am finally open again for business. I have already starting booking weddings for 2012 and starting to book shoots for February and March. The baby has actually (ironically) brought me more flexibility to my schedule so I am lucky to be available for weekdays and weekends for shoots. I am so excited to start this new chapter of my life as a mom and see how it enhances my abilities as a photographer.

Hooray for all of this.

Little Olivia is ten weeks old and the sweetest ball of smiles and laughs. Her mom Amy, dad Bryce and big (furry) brother Barney are so happy to welcome her to their lives.

Finally….A long overdue post about a beautiful and simple wedding from April of this year. Jody and Bryan were married at the Pacific Club in Newport Beach in a small afternoon ceremony surrounded by friends and family and their fabulously spunky twins. The day was a pleasure to photograph…they were relaxed and easy going and so obviously in love.

We found this cool tree down by the water that had LOVE carved in it. Perfect? Serendipitous.

Felina is an old friend of mine from Oregon. We met up with her family at the beach below the Montage for a fun afternoon. One seemingly small wave snuck up on them and soaked them. I thought it would make for a great holiday card montage.

I took an unintended three month sabbatical from updating my blog because we were busy cooking up this little guy, who is due in November. And along with all that baking came months of morning sickness and house renovations, and a bunch of fantastic family photo shoots and events that I sadly did not blog about. I am going to try and post some of the photos of the last few months, and some of the recent ones. So be prepared, a lot of cute families on their way.

I had the opportunity to photograph this beautiful family on a gorgeous Saturday in April. This little guy is 6 weeks old and has the most beautiful skin and soulful expressions.
Love this little look.
Gorgeous family!

Marcus, Kate and Dylan live in a fabulously urban, gritty, colorful neighbor in LA and as they will soon be departing the city for more grass and hills and space, they wanted to capture some of the area where Dylan spent the first year of his life.

Dylan just started walking three weeks ago and he is already running. Running at full speed. He is one of the most athletic children I have ever met.

And happiest.

Love this series on the stairs.

Such a cool and funky neighborhood. I love the colors and the architecture and the vibrance.
